Kal grew up in Durham as an avid musician and athlete. With STEM interests, he applied his skills to help and heal others. Pursuing an MD/Ph.D. at UPenn, Kal hopes to practise medicine while developing medical devices. He also makes service a priority by leading initiatives like Minds-On. Having seen the organization grow year by year, Kall is most proud of the mentoring opportunities Minds-On offers to both our youth and our tutors. Encouraging our members to engage in their communities beyond the classroom, he takes pride in helping provide future generations of leaders with the tools and confidence to make a difference.

A product of West Lynde Public School, Clayton is a lover of school, sports and is an advocate of mental health. He currently works at MGH/Harvard Medical school as a psychiatry researcher and dreams of completing a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. After years as a member, his favourite thing about Minds-On is its focus on the holistic development of the program's youth. He loves providing our students with opportunities for mentorship, academic growth and physical activity.

Iyanuoluwa Akinrinola is the Executive Director of Minds On. Iyanuoluwa works alongside several TDSB, DDSB, YRDSB, and PDSB teachers in curriculum planning & review, pedagogical skills development, and knowledge mobilization workshops. At Minds On, she facilitates program planning, program delivery, and overall operations of Minds On which serves students within the Durham Region (both virtually and in-person).

Xavier graduated from McMaster University with a degree in Commerce. During his time there, he was a varsity athlete on the Men's soccer team. He is currently back at McMaster to complete his MBA. He has a passion for volunteering and aims to be an inspiration to the youth in the Black community. Xavier is working to apply his business knowledge to help grow Minds-on through research, grants, and business planning.

Spending much of her upbringing in the Durham Region, Kiersten has expanded her architectural knowledge in Boston and now hopes to do so in Montreal as well. She is working as an architectural designer while studying for licensure, among other certifications. Kiersten aspires to run her own practise, centred around wellness.

Ben grew up in the Peel Region where he was heavily involved in academics, music and athletics. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Sciences where he was also an athlete with Varsity Track and Field. He is currently at the University of Waterloo completing his Master's in Kinesiology. Ben has always valued the importance of giving back to the community; his favourite aspect of Minds-On is the opportunity to mentor children in being active members of their communities.
